Math and Writing Placement

New to 海角破解版? Depending on the program or Program Area you applied to, fulfilling the placement process may or may not be required. Find info specific to your program or Program Area here.

Math Placement

Math Multi-Measure Placement
If your program or Program Area requires math placement, you’ll need to complete the Math Multi-Measure Placement (MMP) survey. To access the survey, log into MyHub. 

ALEKS Placement Test

Depending on your program or Program Area, you may also need to take the ALEKS Math Placement Test. Please check with your advisor or program department to find out if ALEKS is required for you.

Taking the ALEKS Placement Test
To take the ALEKS placement test, you’ll need to schedule an appointment using the “Schedule an Appointment” link above.

If you can’t test at the Main Campus Test Center or the Coralville Test Center, you may schedule an appointment at one of 海角破解版’s other locations, or arrange to test at a non-海角破解版 location. Details about both options are available here.

Practice Test Option
Want to try a practice test first? You have access to one free ALEKS practice test by logging into and selecting the ALEKS placement test.

Important: The practice test is optional and cannot be used for course placement.

To receive official placement results, you must complete the ALEKS test in a proctored setting — either at a 海角破解版 Test Center or another approved testing location.

Writing Placement

Guided Writing Placement
To complete the Guided Writing Placement, log in to MyHub.
